Hunting and Fishing Otter Tail County has over 1,000 lakes, making hunting and fishing a great fit for our area. Check the Minnesota DNR web site at www.dnr.state.mn.us or the Fergus Falls Wetland Man-agement District website at www.fws.gov/midwest/fergus-fallswetland for more information. Natural Environment • Transportation ٠Transportation٠ Continental Divide The Northern Divide (one of five Continental Divides in North America) runs through Otter Tail County. At the survey-or’s transit at the Continental Divide Information center (exit 60 off I-94) the watershed of the Atlantic Ocean divides from that of Hudson Bay. Visitors to the center are invited to peek inside the teepee (spring-fall), marvel at the giant bison and enjoy the log cabin shelter and picnic area. Aquatic Invasive Species Help protect Otter Tail County lakes from invasive species. Tips to stop aquatic hitchhikers: • Inspect and remove aquatic plants and animals before entering/leaving boat access; • Drain water before leaving the access and leave the drain plug out while the boat is being transported; • Dispose of unwanted live bait in the trash, not in the water or on land; • Spray, rinse or dry boats at least five days before travelling to a different body of water. Fergus Falls is an easy drive from the Twin Cities or Far-go. Right on Interstate 94 with five exits we are 2-1/2 hours northwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul and less than an hour from Fargo-Moorhead. We are served by Jefferson Bus Service and have an airport that provides charter service. Once you’re in Fergus Falls, three taxi companies can help you get around.
